Kipra Rent A Car rental terms: driver requirements, booking, payment, insurance, border rules and handover points.

1. Parties and scope

These terms set the general framework of the rental relationship between Ağrı ve Toros Turizm Ltd (Kipra Rent A Car, "Kipra") and the renting customer ("Driver"). The rental agreement signed at handover contains the specific conditions of the car and the rental; in case of conflict, the signed agreement prevails.

2. Driver requirements

Minimum driver age is 21. Drivers aged 21–24 pay a young-driver fee; no extra fee from age 25.
The licence must have been held for at least 1 year.
Foreign licences are accepted. No international permit is needed if your licence uses Latin characters.
Bring your licence and your passport or ID to the handover.
Additional drivers can be added on the booking form.

3. Booking and payment

No deposit and no credit card are required to book. Your phone, email and a photo of your licence are enough.
Prepayment is optional; you may pay in advance to lock the reservation if you wish.
Pay by cash, credit card or bank transfer.
Prices show in EUR, TRY, GBP and USD with no conversion markup — pay in whichever you prefer.
Bookings without prepayment can be cancelled or re-dated free of charge. For prepaid bookings, contact us about refunds.

4. Pricing

Every displayed price includes VAT and standard insurance; there are no hidden fees.
Daily rates are tiered (1 day / 2 days / 3–29 days / 30+ days) and vary with season and availability. The price confirmed at booking is the price you pay.
Rentals over 7 days get tiered discounts; 30+ days are billed at a monthly rate, and the same car can be extended to new dates.

5. Insurance

Standard third-party insurance is included in every rental.
Full CASCO is optional and can be selected at booking.
Coverage is valid inside North Cyprus only (see section 6).

6. Border rule — the car cannot cross south

Kipra rental cars cannot be taken into South Cyprus under any circumstance. The insurance purchased in the north stops completely the moment the car crosses the Green Line, and legal restrictions prohibit TRNC-registered rentals from operating in the south. All legal and financial liability arising from a breach rests with the Driver. For guests arriving from the south we meet you at the border crossing and hand over a north-side, insured car there — the car never crosses, you do.

7. Handover, return and transfer points

Free: within Famagusta city, the Deryneia border crossing, the Famagusta (Strovilia) border crossing, and İskele Long Beach.
Paid: Ercan Airport handover €39 per direction (flight-tracked — no extra charge for delays); Larnaca Airport meet & transfer €85 per direction (our team meets you, brings you to the Deryneia crossing, and hands the car over on the north side).
Pickup and return points are chosen at booking; different pickup/return points are possible.

8. Fuel, mileage and cleaning

Fuel: same-to-same — return the car at the fuel level you received it, no charge.
Mileage: unlimited, at no extra charge.
No cleaning fee for returning the car dirty (as long as there is no damage).

9. Use of the car and traffic fines

North Cyprus drives on the left; the Driver must follow local traffic rules.
Traffic fines incurred during the rental belong to the Driver.
The car may only be driven by drivers named on the agreement.

10. Breakdown and accidents

In an accident, obtain a police report first, then call the emergency number on your rental agreement; we walk you through the process step by step.
In case of breakdown, roadside assistance and a replacement car are provided when needed.

11. Extras

Full CASCO, child seats, portable Wi-Fi and other extras can be selected on the booking form; their fees are shown clearly at booking.

12. Governing law

These terms and the rental agreement are governed by the law of the TRNC; the courts of Famagusta have jurisdiction over disputes.
